Faris Almaari

Research Assistant

Faris Almaari is an MA student at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) concentrating on security and strategy in the Middle East. He previously worked as a research assistant at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy in the Arab Politics Program and at the Johns Hopkins University’s Sociology Department on topics related to Islamic finance. Faris’s research interests include security studies, disarmament and WMDs, Saudi foreign policy, and Arab-Israeli conflict.

Faris hold a B.A. in international studies and political science from the Johns Hopkins University, and received the Pier Larson Prize for All-Around Achievements in International Studies in his senior year.
